Protection of Habitats and Species
We have an environmental duty of care to provide protection to a range of plants and wildlife, particularly protected species such as newts. In these situations, we would provide mitigation services which would typically include special measures. For crested newts, we would include exclusion fences and pond creation or restoration. We will carry out ring-fencing to ensure that the newts and other wildlife are not near machineries and other works. If this still doesn’t ensure their safety, we will look to translocate them to another suitable area.
